Aquatic Spark-Ignition Motor, Vessel and Off-Road Recreational Vehicle Emission Regulations (SOR/2011-10)

The objective of the aquatic Spark-Ignition system, Vessel and Off-Road Recreational car Emission Regulations (hereinafter described as "the Regulations") is protect the environment and health of Canadians by establishing Canadian emission requirements that play a role in the reduced total of air pollutants from machines, vessels and automobiles. For the first time in Canada, these Regulations set Canadian emission standards and test procedures for marine motors, vessels with downloaded gas outlines or fuel tanks and off-road recreational automobiles. These laws come in positioning with those of this US ecological cover department (U.S. EPA).

Overall, the laws wil dramatically reduce emissions by establishing emission standards the of use lifetime of these engines, vessels and vehicles. To reduce the regulating burden on manufacturers and importers, the Regulations know a U.S. EPA certificate as evidence of conformity and supply versatility to meet up with the regulatory requirements by implementing an optional fleet averaging and emission credit system. Eventually, the laws supply methods of determining conformity for businesses that manufacture or import marine spark-ignition motors, vessels and off-road recreational automobiles only for purchase in Canada without the need to rely on the U.S. official certification system.
